Contemplative Walk and Guided Meditation

Date: Saturday, June 16

Time: 7 AM – 8:15 AM

Contact: Darcy Kitching, darcy@walk2connect.com

Start your morning off with a contemplative community walk. Join Boulder Walks and Naropa University for a morning contemplative practice of walking meditation, followed by a guided sitting meditation. We will walk from Boulder High School along the gorgeous Boulder Creek path to the peaceful seclusion of the Naropa University campus green. Upon our arrival, we will create a circle of intention before beginning our guided sitting meditation. We will end with a bow, and then enjoy tea and light refreshments before an informal social walk back to Boulder High School.

Start:  Boulder Creek Path at 17th Street (west side), next to Boulder High School

End:    Naropa University - 2130 Arapahoe Avenue (option to walk back to the starting point with the group at 8:15 am)

7-7:30 AM:    Silent walking meditation from Boulder High School to Naropa University

7:30-8:15 AM:    Guided sitting meditation on the Naropa campus green

8:15 AM:    Tea and light refreshments

Going to Hanuman Festival? You will finish in time to attend the 8:30 a.m. classes

How to Get There:

  • We strongly encourage participants to use low-impact modes of transportation like walking, cycling or mass transit.

  • See the map below for a snapshot of the meeting location (circled in red).

  • There is an RTD bus stop for the JUMP route directly in front of Boulder High School. View bus stop and location times by clicking here.

  • Get off the JUMP bus at the Boulder High stop. Walk half a block east to 17th, turn right, walk half a block south to where 17th Street crosses over the Boulder Creek Path. Turn right and down onto the Creek Path ramp where you will see us gathered at some picnic tables.

  • Boulder offers an extensive Bike Sharing program through Boulder B-Cycles. See nearby B-Cycle stations byclicking here. Park your B-cycle nearby, and see above directions.

  • If driving, park on Athens Street, off of 17th. Walk back toward 17th, turn left and walk half a block south to where 17th street crosses over the Boulder Creek Path. Turn left and walk down to the creek path, then turn 180 degrees to the right to cross under 17th and join us on the west side at the picnic tables.
